Surely, India
has some of the best B-Schools in the world. There can not be a more
rewarding & learning experience than getting into one of our prestigious
B-schools like IIMs.
However, if you can not make it these top notch
institutes, we think, the next best option for you is to study abroad.
The Illusion
But we would like to caution you that, studying
abroad does not mean that you directly become superior to others or
become extra-ordinarily intelligent. How much you learn from any course
directly depends on your attitude and aptitude and your thirst for
knowledge and excellence. These qualities are needed irrespective of you
studying in India or Abroad.
We believe that only if you have the right
frame of mind and a receptive attitude, will you benefit from studying
abroad.
The difference
The teaching methodologies, infrastructural
facilities (like Wi-Fi campus), eminent professors, high attention given
to first hand research, problem-solving approach, seminars, workshops,
etc are quite distinct and have a positive impact in the delivery of the
course.
Global Executive
Companies today are no doubt looking for extra
ordinary individuals to propel their growths and take their businesses
to the next level and across the borders. Cross border deals, mergers & acquisitions are taking
place faster than ever before. Competent, highly talented & skilled individuals are
in increasing demand.
Employers are looking employees with
international experience, exposure, foreign language & etiquette skills
and ability to work under cross-cultural settings.
Studying abroad imparts you with a new set of
skills. You get you broaden your horizons and vision. You become aware
with management practices followed in different parts of world and you
learn the art of communicating with people from different cultures.
And for sure, foreign degree weighs heavy on
your resume.
Personality Metamorphosis
Staying away from family right between unknown
faces is really challenging. Its more emotional than physical. It is
like survival of fittest. You are introduced to your own self. You are
confronted with tough situations and your problem solving skills are put
to test. Last, but not the least...as you are solely responsible for
results, you become action-oriented and thoughtful.
Few Points to Consider while going
studies abroad.
Loneliness: In spite of having many
people around, you may sometime find yourself lonely. People around you
may not speak your mother tongue. Although, with Indians settled in most
parts of the world, this is a rare case.
Climate: Climates in some countries can
at times become very hostile and unbearable. The winters in most western
countries are really cold with heavy snow and harsh storms. A little
different from hot & humid Mumbai.
Cost: Although studying abroad has
become more affordable and possible due to availability of loans, there
are various variables that make up the total cost of studying abroad
which includes tuition fee and cost of living such as rent, food,
transport, accessories, etc. Summing up the above is comparatively more
expensive than studying in a topnotch Indian B-school.
Culture Differences: The virtues with
which we are brought up here do not necessarily exists there. The bond
of relations may not be the same there what we have here. It becomes
essential for you to digest these cultural variance and shield
yourself against the more OPEN western cultures.
